40 Wonderful Years!!

On August 21,2010 my husband and I celebrated 40 wonderful years of marriage. To us it does not seem that long. We are asked very often how does it feel to be with someone that long? I'm always amazed when I hear that question. It makes me wonder if couples today agree on a length of time to stay married? Do they say - okay we've reached 6 years or 10 years so that's enough. Time to switch!! Surely, they are not hearing themselves.

We haven't done anything unusual except enjoyed each other's company for 40 years. To this day, we are our own "best friend". There is no one we would rather spend time with than each other. We have friends, but they come second.

What I wish for my sons and others is that they find "their soul mate" and live a very loving and happy life. The key is to first love yourself before attempting to love someone else. Sounds easy but its not for some.

A POEM JUST FOR YOU!

I received a poem today that was written by a poet born in 1923. I read the poem but realized that I could not attach myself to it. It prompted me to think about how so often and easily we take on "other people's stuff". The poem was written (and I will not reveal the poet because that's not the lesson) as a way for her to express HER feelings and truth. Not mine!

As we move on this journey of our own self discovery we must be mindful of the stories that we are writing/acting for ourselves. Be intentional with your TRUTH so that what you truly want in your life is what you manifest.

Each day you can decide to write a poem for yourself full of joy, love, and beauty. Your day can be what you want it to be, no matter who or what may enter your experience. What poem will you write?

THE BEAUTY OF A VACATION

Well, I'm back from my week long vacation in Sunny Florida! The weather, food, company, and time off was absolutely GREAT!

We landed back in Baltimore to face 55 degrees temperature. Talking about a shock to your system! I guess Mother Nature was bringing me back to reality. (ha, ha) Mission accomplished!

But as shocking as it was for my body to experience the change, there was a lot of comfort bundled-up inside. It felt great to be back home. It felt good to drive down the highway and see the beautiful GREEN trees and grass. You see, everything is so green because of the heavy snow we experienced in February. I found myself viewing my ride home and observing my surroundings with "fresh eyes". With eyes of appreciation for how Mother Nature displays her beauty in all shapes and colors. And I realized that by spending a week in Florida, it enabled me to come back to my perfect HOME and experience even more GRATITUDE for my life and what I have.

Is that what vacation is all about? Getting away to experience a change so that you come back refreshed and renewed and with a great appreciation for YOUR OWN! Well, I say THANKS, UNIVERSE! I'M BLESSED!

It's time for another book review! Go out to your nearest book store and buy The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. It's a wonderful book to guide you to personal freedom. There are only 138 pages but well worth the investment to yourself.
